History
Cunningham & Associates, Inc. is the parent company of GC Realty, LLC. and is Arizona’s only third generation auction company, owned and operated by the Cunningham family for over 70 years. Cunningham’s Auction Service became Cunningham & Associates Auctioneers and Appraisers when Bob Cunningham relocated to Arizona over 50 years ago after his service in the US Navy.
Founded in 1947 by George Y. Cunningham in Eastern Arkansas, Cunningham and Associates was later incorporated in 1984.

George was first licensed to sell real estate in Arizona in 1989 and received his broker’s license in 2008. He is by far the most experienced real estate auctioneer in Arizona and has sold well over $100 million in real estate.
George was born in Phoenix, AZ and attended Mt. View High School in Mesa. He attended the University of Arkansas where he played football for the Razorbacks and went on to attain his degree in finance from Northern Arizona University.
In 1992, George went to work on Wall Street for Shearson Lehman Brothers where he held series 7, 63, and 65 licenses and was in the top 5% of brokers in his class. In 1996, he left the finance industry to work full time for his father, Bob Cunningham, in the family auction business.
He is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers, a realtor with the National Association of Realtors, a federal firearms dealer, and auto dealer. This being said, George is licensed to sell or appraise every type of asset.
George is a pilot and a Colonel with the Commemorative Air Force Airbase Arizona where he donates his time restoring and maintaining airworthy WWII era Warbirds.
Bob Cunningham
Bob Cunningham was first licensed to sell real estate in Arizona in 1960’s and believes he may have written the first real estate auction contract in Arizona while selling RTC properties with Tom Fannin.
He was born during the Great Depression in Black Oak in Eastern Arkansas in the Mississippi Delta near Memphis, TN. In 1947, when Bob was only 12 years old, his father George conducted his first auction after returning home from serving in WWII. Bob worked with his father in the auction company and at his general store in Black Oak until leaving to attend college.
He attended the University of Arkansas for a couple of years where he also played running back for the Razorbacks. He then followed in his father’s and brother’s footsteps and joined the US Navy where he served on “The Hanna” CV19, The USS Hancock, one of the most prolific aircraft carriers in the history of our navy.
Bob Cunningham is by far the most experienced auctioneer in Arizona.
